The Arizona State Men's basketball team took care of business on the road once again as they defeated DePaul 78-56 on Friday.
Sun Devil point guard Jahii Carson had a solid performance finishing with 23 points, nine assists (career high) and five rebounds. Forward Shaquielle McKissic had his best performance all season with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the fact that Arizona State never trailed, the Sun Devils barely held on to a 28-25 lead at the half. In the second half, forward Jonathan Gilling and shooting guard Jermaine Marshall combined for five three-pointers in a span of 6:36 to give the Sun Devils a 21 point lead with seven minutes to go. DePaul had no answer, as they were only able to muster up a 30 percent of their shots.
While the Sun Devils lived by the three (44 percent) the Blue Demons died by the three as they only hit two out of 16. Point guard Billy Garrett Jr. led all Blue Demons in scoring, but none of DePaul's players shot more than 50 percent.
Next up, the Sun Devils will host winless Grambling State on Saturday Dec. 14.
