Jaelen Strong, a three-star wide receiver recruit according to Rivals, has officially committed to Arizona State on National Signing Day 2013. Strong is a junior college recruit from Pierce Community College in California, but originally hails from West Philadelphia Catholic High School.
This represents a major addition to next season's roster at what figures to be the team's biggest area of need, with both Jamal Miles and Rashad Ross having exhausted their eligibility after the 2012 season. Strong figures to compete for playing time immediately, and should play a big role in ASU's 2013 campaign.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Strong combines a big, physical body with very good speed, clocking in at 4.46 in the 40 according to Scout. Both Scout and Rivals rank him as a 3-star prospect. Last season, Strong caught 67 passes and led the SCFA with 1,263 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Here's some video of Jaelen Strong's freshman season at Pierce. We recommend muting the video due to profanity.
