Eriquel Florence signed his official letter of intent today to play for Arizona State. The Junior College transfer will play linebacker for the Sun Devils after he declined to sign with Houston according to Rivals.
Florence gave his verbal commitment to the school on Christmas day. The inside linebacker played in eight games for Contra Costa Community College in Martinez, California, where he racked up 30 total tackles, 7 of them for a loss, one sack and one interception.
The 6-foot-1 recruit runs a 40 yard dash in 4.6 seconds, but he is not the most talented linebacker in the Sun Devils recruiting class and should have a tough time competing for a spot in the main depth chart unless he works hard during the offseason.
Out of high school, he was recruited by both Alabama and Auburn.
According to 247 Sports, he is the thirteenth best inside linebacker in the junior college class. Check out Florence's highlight video at Contra Costa C.C. last year.
