Demetrius Cherry signed his letter of intent to play football for Arizona State. According to Rivals, the junior college defensive end passed on offers to play at California, Michigan State, Maryland, and Illinois to name a few.

The three-star commit checks in a 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds for a surprisingly agile defensive end. The Florida native played at Contra Costa Community College with another ASU recruit, Eriquel Florence.

Cherry's strength is said to be his run defense. He has good height and quality off-the-ball speed, but he needs to work on his footwork to help him play NCAA DI football.

He is already a Sun Devil faithful considering he has expressed his support of the basketball team after they whooped UCLA.

He made first team All-Conference last season and can bench press roughly 325 pounds and can squat just under 500.
