Chans Cox has signed his National Letter of Intent with the Arizona State Sun Devils, after enrolling in the school earlier this year. Cox was one of the most highly recruited players in the state of Arizona, as he held offers from Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Nebraska, USC, Washington, California and Arkansas.
Cox played both ways at Blue Ridge High School in Lakeside, Arizona, being ranked as the No. 1 fullback in the nation by Scout.com. Cox is ranked as the nation's No. 13 outside linebacker from Rivals.com, with the recruiting service ranking him as the 151st player in the nation and the third best player in the state of Arizona.
Perhaps the best part of Cox's recruiting, is that he graduated high school in December and enrolled early at Arizona State, meaning he is eligible for spring practice. Cox is the total package, running a 4.53 40-yard dash and owning a 4.0 GPA in the classroom.
He figures to come in and compete for playing time right away in the Sun Devil linebacking corps, probably at the Devilbacker spot. He boasts nice size (6-3, 230) for the position and is a very smart football player.
Many feel Cox has the best chance of any high school player in this class to see a lot of action next season.
Here is Cox's Rivals recruiting profile.
