Ronald Lewis To Arizona State: Wide Receiver Chooses ASU Over Texas A&M, Baylor And Arizona

The three-star wide receiver had some pretty impressive offers, including Texas A&M and Ole Miss, but chose the Arizona State Sun Devils instead.

Ronald Lewis has signed his National Letter of Intent for Arizona State and is ready to wear Maroon and Gold. Lewis is a wide receiver out of Harvey, Louisiana, and committed to Arizona State in September of 2012. Lewis held offers from Nebraska, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Baylor, Arizona, Ole Miss and TCU.

Lewis attended West Jefferson High School and is ranked as a three-star prospect by most recruiting services. ESPN ranks him as the nation's 127th wide receiver prospect and the No. 37 prospect in the state of Louisiana. Rivals ranks Lewis as the No. 65 wide receiver in the nation.

According to his ESPN profile, Lewis' best attributes are his hands, his route running and his ability to catch the ball in traffic. Lewis excels in screens and reverses. The fact that Lewis had offers from Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Nebraska and Baylor makes me believe that Lewis is better than his rating would suggest.

ASU's leading returning receiver is Kevin Ozier, who caught just 21 passes for 324 yards. Although the Sun Devils bring in two solid JUCO wide receivers, Lewis may come in and compete for playing time right away, much like Richard Smith did in 2012.

Here are Lewis' junior highlights.
