With their collegiate football careers now behind them, several former Arizona State players are now eyeing a journey to the NFL. Three such Sun Devils received a boost in their quest, receiving invitations to the NFL Scouting Combine later this month.
Punter Josh Hubner, linebacker Brandon Magee and safety Keelan Johnson were among the 333 former college players invited to the premier pre-draft evaluation event. This year, the Combine will run from February 20-26 in Indianapolis.
Johnson will be among 60 defensive backs performing for the NFL scouts. As a senior in 2012, he made major strides and had a career year, leading the team with five interceptions.
Magee returned from his season-ending injury in 2011 to lead the team with 113 tackles and added 6.5 sacks. He'll be one of 35 linebackers at the event.
As arguably the nation's best punter, Hubner will be looking to carve out one of the rare spots in April's draft for his position. Thirteen other specialists will join Hubner in Indianapolis during the Combine.
Television coverage of the event will be on NFL Network. The full player invitation list can be seen here.
