Well Sun Devil fans, welcome to the dog days of summer. There were no major events happening in Arizona State athletics this week. The softball season is over, and the ASU baseball fell in Fullerton. However, there was still a lot going on in Sun Devil country last week.
The Arizona State baseball team had seven players drafted in the 2013 MLB Draft, including ace RHP Trevor Williams in the 2nd round. Will Sutton was named a preseason All-American by one of the most trusted minds in college football and we had two Sun Devil tennis players were named All-Americans.
Here is your weekly recap in Sun Devil athletics.
Five Stories to Read from Last Week
Trevor Williams Drafted by Marlins: Mr. Friday night himself, Trevor Williams, was selected with the 44th overall pick in the 2013 MLB Draft. Williams went 19-8 in his ASU career, including 12-2 in his sophomore season.
New Speak of the Devil Podcast: Brad Denny and Joe Healy return for another Speak of the Devil podcast. This week, Brad and Joe talk to new ASU QB commit Manny Wilkins in a can't miss interview for Sun Devil football fans.
Will Sutton Named Preseason All-American: Phil Steele, one of the most trusted college football experts, put ASU defensive tackle Will Sutton on his Preseason All-American team earlier this week. Sutton compiled 13 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss last season.
Golston's Loss is Kelly's Gain: Ben Haber checks in from Los Angeles to give his thoughts on the Notre Dame quarterback situation. With Everette Golston suspended for the season, Ben believes that the Sun Devils have a golden opportunity to pull an upset in Dallas.
Sun Devil Legend Series: House of Sparky continues to count down the greatest players in school history. Last week we highlighted players such as Shaun McDonald, Al Harris, John Jefferson and Shane Collins.

- Congratulations is in order to ASU's Cory Hahn. The paralyzed Sun Devil outfielder was selected in the 34th round of the MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Hahn has been an instrumental part of the program since suffering his injury in 2011.
