Is there anything that Steve Patterson cannot do? The man starred down the most storied college football program in America, and they blinked first. After weeks of controversy, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will play a game in 2014 at Sun Devil Stadium.
The game is scheduled for November 8th, as the great Terrell Owens once said: "Get your popcorn ready." As a side note, if I ever get arrested I would like Steve Patterson as my lawyer.
The news was not all good in Sun Devil land, as the university announced earlier this week that softball head coach Clint Myers was leaving the program. Coach Myers is taking the same position at Auburn University to be closer to family. House of Sparky would like to wish him and his family the best.
Four stories to read from last week
Clint Myers leaving Arizona State for Auburn: Arizona State softball coach Clint Myers is leaving the program to take over the same position at Auburn University. Myers was the head coach of the Sun Devils for eight years, leading the team to seven Women's College World Series appearances.
Notre Dame Game Back on in 2014: Steve Patterson FTW! It was announced earlier this week that Notre Dame will travel to Tempe and play the Sun Devils in 2014. Find out when the game is and how Mr. Patterson thwarted Notre Dame's attempts to leave ASU in the dust.

ASU Baseball Season Review Part 1: The first in our two-part baseball review focuses on "Player of the Year," "Best Game" and "Biggest Surprise." See which game we think was the best and which Sun Devil we think deserves to be team MVP.
Andres Garcia Dismissed From Team, Onyeali In Hot Water: Uh oh. It looks like there's finally trouble in Todd Graham's football paradise. Find out about what exactly happened in the two unrelated yet discouraging incidents here.
- Sun Devil sophomore volleyball player Allison Palmer is playing with the USA Jr. Women's National Team in the Czech Republic. Palmer is blogging about the experience and her first post can be found right here.
- The Arizona State athletic program boasts four players who were named the Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year in their respective sport. Jacqueline Cako (Women's Tennis), Carrick Felix (Men's Basketball), Jake Meredith (Wrestling) and Nick Happe (Men's Track and Field and Cross Country). Since the award's inception in 2006, Arizona State has the second most scholar athletes of any Pac-12 school.
