Preseason All-Pac-12 Team: House of Sparky Edition

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that both the gentlemen pictured above made our preseason Pac-12 All-American team. But who else made the cut?

Ezra Shaw

The fine folks over at Pacific Takes had us vote on a Pac-12 Preseason All-American team as well as some Heisman favorites from the conference. Below is what we went with. Feel free to shout at us in the comments below if you don't agree; we could always use a healthy debate.

Heisman Favorite No. 1: USC WR Marqise Lee - Junior - If anyone is going to win the Heisman out of the Pac-12, it's gonna be Lee. Although a wide receiver hasn't taken home the hardware since 1991, there's probably a case to be made that Lee deserved to end that cold streak last season. There's no denying that Lee has the talent to make him the odds-on favorite; it's simply going to come down to whoever is under center for the Trojans being able to get him the ball enough to put up some gaudy numbers.

Heisman Favorite No. 2: Oregon RB De'Anthony Thomas - Junior - Is it just me or does it feel like Thomas has been a Heisman candidate for about a decade now? This could finally be the year he gets over the Heisman hump with his talent and potential touches finally meeting eye-to-eye. With Kenjon Barner bye-bye, Thomas has now inherited the role of veteran leader. Personally, I can't wait to see what he does with it.

Heisman Favorite No. 3: Oregon QB Marcus Mariota - Sophomore - I have a gut feeling that new head coach Mark Helfrich is going to be a little too conservative with Mariota in the early going and that's why I have him so low. But if he lets Mariota rip, I wouldn't be surprised to see him rack up 4,000 total yards and around 45 total touchdowns. If that happens, it's going to be difficult to deny Mariota's Heisman candidacy.
