The 2013 Arizona State Sun Devils will get a bit more publicity this season as it was announced ASU will be one of two Pac-12 football teams to be featured on a new Pac-12 Networks series entitled "The Drive."
The 14-part documentary series look a lot like the HBO series "Hard Knocks" where filmmakers follow an NFL team during training camp. California will be the other school featured.
The series debuts on Pac-12 Networks on September 11th with a one-hour premier. The next 13 episodes will air each Wednesday from September 18th through December 11th and will each run 30 minutes.
The show airs at 7 p.m. and episodes will be split between California and ASU.
It is no surprise that the two schools with the best journalism programs in the conference were chosen for the first season of the show. Arizona State features the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Cal features the Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Both journalism schools worked with the Pac-12 Networks during its first season on air.
If this show is anything like "Hard Knocks," Sun Devil fans are in for a treat. The show should feature practices, meetings and behind the scenes footage on game days.
