It was another intriguing week of Pac-12 basketball. UCLA beats Colorado on the road, but they falls to Utah on Saturday. Arizona once again looked dominant and California remained unbeaten after three weeks of conference play.
See where we rank each Pac-12 basketball team after this past weekend's conference play:
1. Arizona Wildcats (18-0, 5-0) Last Week: 1
The Wildcats rolled over Arizona State on Thursday, proving once again that they are the class of the conference. Sean Miller's club has won its five conference games by an average 18.2 points per game.
2. California Golden Bears (14-4, 5-0) Last Week: 4
The Golden Bears are the only team besides Arizona to win its first five conference games. The Golden Bears beat Washington and Washington State this past weekend by a combined 50 points. The Golden Bears feature five players that score in double figures.
3. UCLA Bruins (14-4, 3-2) Last Week: 2
UCLA started off their weekend road trip with a solid, 13-point victory over Colorado. However, UCLA suffered its first upset of the year, losing to upstart Utah by five on Saturday. With seven players averaging over 7.0 PPG, UCLA is one of the deepest and most balanced teams in the country.
4. Colorado Buffaloes (15-4, 4-2) Last Week: 3
Colorado continues life without Spencer Dinwiddie. The Buffaloes went 1-1 last weekend, losing to UCLA and beating USC by 21. Colorado will lean on Josh Scott and Askia Booker this season in Dinwiddie's absence.
5. Stanford Cardinal (12-5, 3-2) Last Week: 7
Like California, Stanford swept the Washington schools at home this past weekend, including a 32-point victory over Washington State. Johnny Dawkins' team has two wins over RPI top 50 teams and Stanford has won three in a row overall.
6. Utah Utes (14-4, 3-3) Last Week: 9
Utah may be the most improved team in the Pac-12, as the Utes have lost three conference games by a combined seven points. Utah swept the Los Angeles schools this past weekend and the Utes now have two RPI top 50 wins on the season.
7. Oregon Ducks (13-4, 1-4) Last Week: 5
Oregon continues to be the biggest enigma in conference. The Ducks were a top 10 team in the AP poll after the non-conference slate, however their only conference win was in overtime against Utah and Oregon has now lost four games in a row. Oregon looks to get back on track this upcoming week against the Washington schools.
8. Washington Huskies (11-8, 3-3) Last Week: 6
Washington had a rough trip to the Bay Area, losing by 26 points against Cal and 12 points to Stanford. The Huskies host the Oregon schools this week as they try to salvage their NCAA tournament chances.
9. Oregon State Beavers (10-7, 2-3) Last Week: 10
The Beavers have beaten Stanford and Oregon over their past three games Senior guard Roberto Nelson is averaging 21.5 PPG and Eric Moreland is averaging 10.0 RPG.
10. Arizona State Sun Devils (13-5, 2-3) Last Week: 8
The Sun Devils fall just behind the Beavers because their only two conference wins have come against the bottom two teams in the Pac-12. Arizona State has looked outmatched in their three conference losses and must get back on track this week against Utah and Colorado if they hope to make the NCAA tournament.
11. Washington State Cougars (8-10, 1-5) Last Week: 11
No change here for the Cougars, who got crushed by both Stanford and California this past weekend.
12. USC Trojans (9-9, 0-5) Last Week: 12
USC is the only team that has not won a conference game, that about says it all about the Trojans.
