ASU Basketball: Sun Devils blow out Trojans in 79-60 win

Arizona State used another big performance from Jordan Bachynski to push its conference record above .500.

The Arizona State men's basketball team trounced the USC Trojans 79-60 in its first game of the Los Angeles road trip.

Four Sun Devils finished in double digits, including center Jordan Bachynski who racked up 20 points, 12 rebounds.

The Trojans shot 36 percent from the field and went 3-17 from 3-point range en route to their second straight conference loss. The only offense they could muster came from Byron Wesley who scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.

In the first half, the Trojans held an 11-9 lead early in the game, but it would be the last lead that the team would hold all game. The Sun Devils closed out the half on a 22-9 run, and held a 44-28 lead at the half. During the run, the Sun Devils drained five threes and point guard Jahii Carson scored eight points.

The Trojans opened up the second half with six straight points to make it a 10-point game. However, the Sun Devils settled in and quickly increased the lead. Bachynski shot 6-9 and scored 14 of his 20 points to help close out the win for the Sun Devils.


  • Carson finished with 18 points, three rebounds and three assists.
  • Shaquielle McKissic finished with a game high six steals, and also scored 12 points.
