Fresh off a huge 26-10 defensive stand against Stanford, Arizona State found themselves in another hard-nosed battle the next week in Seattle. The Sun Devils took an uneasy 10-0 lead into halftime before the Huskies came back out and knotted it at 10 with 7:14 left in the fourth quarter. Everything was going UW's way in the second half as Hau'oli Kikaha seemed unstoppable off the line and ASU struggled to get anything going offensively. Huge wind gusts played a factor all night too. The Sun Devils then proceeded to mount a 9-play 75-yard drive that ended in the following.

Taylor Kelly lined up in shotgun with Demario Richard behind him and Kody Kohl in the h-back spot. Chambers got jammed at the line of scrimmage and Kelly pumped once, waiting for Kohl to get into the flat. Kikaha beat Jamil Douglas badly off the left edge and had wrapped up Kelly by the feet before he threw the errant pass. Feeling the Huskies' defender nipping at his toes, Kelly chucked up a lame duck pass that wobbled through the air. Chambers saw the pass coming first, both him and freshman UW defensive back Budda Baker slipped coming back to the ball. Chambers made the catch awkwardly diving forward in the end zone for the touchdown. Meanwhile Kelly got leveled by Washington linebacker Cory Littleton. It put the Sun Devils up 17-10, and they wouldn't relinquish the lead, holding firm against the Huskies' depleted offense.
