The New Mexico game was one that - for awhile - was uncomfortable to watch for Sun Devil fans. It was supposed to be a blowout and it was after the first quarter it looked like it would be. Then the Lobos brought the score to 29-21 in the second half and things looked dicey. ASU managed to but them away in the third, with Demario Richard putting the exclamation point on a dominant second half.
Play No. 5: Demario Richard's 46-yard touchdown run
Total: 23 points
The game was already decided before the Richard touchdown. ASU led 51-23 with four minutes left, but that didn't stop the 17-year-old from breaking free for his first-career touchdown. It was only his fourth carry of the day, with the previous three going for 11 combined yards, but he made it count. It was also a coming-out party of sorts for Richard, who turned into an integral part of the Sun Devils' ground attack.
