Todd Graham received perhaps their best Christmas present of the day in the form of four-star all purpose back Paul Lucas, who gave his word to the Sun Devils Thursday afternoon. Hod Robino of Devilsdigest.com was first with the news on Twitter.

Lucas is a local recruit from Mountain Pointe High School. Scout.com ranks Lucas as a three-star back, but he's a four-star according to ESPN and Rivals. Scout ranks him at No. 61 at his position in the country while Rivals has him much higher at No. 8 at his position and the No. 225 best player in the country. He weighs in at 175 pounds, stands 5-foot-11 and is also the No. 3 player in Arizona according to Rivals.
He was fielding offers from Nebraska, Notre Dame, UCLA, Utah, Washington, Oregon State and Tennessee among others. ASU offered on Oct. 9 and he took an unofficial visit on Dec. 14 according to 247sports.com
The local speedster rushed for 1,057 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 9.9 yards per carry in 12 games for Mountain Pointe last season. His announcement comes two years to the day after Jaelen Strong committed to ASU.
