ASU Basketball: Lindsey Drew commits to the Sun Devils

Drew has an impressive lineage

Allan Henry-USA TODAY Sports

Herb Sendek brought in his third recruit of his 2015 class in the form of three-star point guard Lindsey Drew. The Los Angeles Times first reported the news a few days ago.

Drew ranks as a three star recruit according to Rivals and Scout, but a two-star recruit according to ESPN. He stands 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds. Scot also ranks him as the No. 25 point guard in his class and the No. 4 point guard in the state of California.

Drew is also the younger brother of Larry Drew II who averaged 7.5 points and 7.3 assists in his senior year at UCLA in 2012-13. He made first team All-Pac-12 that season as well. This also makes him the son of Larry Drew who played point guard at Missouri and was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in the first round of 1980. He went on to play 10 seasons in the NBA.

He joins Andre Spight and Dominic Green in the Sun Devils' 2015 class. Drew will have to really prove himself next fall if he's going to snatch a starting spot away from Tra Holder or Kodi Justice who will each have a year of playing time under their belt. Drew was also fielding offers from Fresno State and UTEP according to Verbal Commits.

Editorial correction: Drew has reclassified to the class of 2016 and decided to attend IMG Academy according to Chris Karpman of ASUdevils.com. We regret and apologize for the error.
