Another wild week in the Pac-12 saw the two best teams in the Pac-12 both fall on the road. Both Arizona and UCLA were upset this past week, losing by a combined six points.
Arizona, UCLA and California currently sit atop the Pac-12 standings, and after that, five teams sit at 5-4 in conference as parity continues to reign in the conference. Here are this week's power rankings.
1. Arizona Wildcats (21-1, 8-1) Last Week: 1
Sean Miller's club finally suffered its first defeat of the season, losing 60-58 to California on Saturday night. Perhaps the bigger loss for the Wildcats is Brandon Ashley, who will be lost for the season with a broken foot. Life without Ashley begins this week against the Oregon schools.
2. UCLA Bruins (17-5, 6-3) Last Week: 2
UCLA suffered its second surprising loss in conference, losing on the road to Oregon State on Sunday by four points. Steve Alford's club is one of the most offensively efficient in the nation, ranking 7th in the nation in assists per game and 8th in field goal percentage.
3. California Golden Bears (15-7, 6-3) Last Week: 4
Cal rises one spot in our power rankings thanks to its victory over previously unbeaten Arizona. The Golden Bears snapped a three-game conference losing streak with that win over Arizona, which may propel them into the NCAA tournament.
4. Stanford Cardinal (14-7, 5-4) Last Week: 6
Stanford had an impressive showing over the last weekend, beating Arizona State and taking Arizona into deep water at home. The Cardinal will face Cal on the road on Wednesday in a crucial matchup of the Bay Area schools.
5. Arizona State Sun Devils (16-6, 5-4) Last Week: 5
The Sun Devils stay put at No. 5 this week after a 1-1 road trip to the Bay Area. The Sun Devils got a crucial victory over California in overtime, but faded against Stanford in the second half. Coming up for Arizona State is a battle with the Oregon schools at Wells Fargo Arena.
6. Colorado Buffaloes (16-6, 5-4) Last Week: 7
Although it was not easy, the Buffaloes got a victory over Utah in overtime on Saturday. Colorado is only 2-4 in their last six conference games and hosts the Washington schools this week.
7. Washington Huskies (13-9, 5-4) Last Week: 3
After having the biggest rise in last week's power rankings, the Huskies have the biggest fall in this week's rankings. Washington lost to Pac-12 bottom feeder and in-state rival Washington State last Saturday. The Huskies had momentum and were still in the hunt for an NCAA tournament berth after sweeping the Oregon schools, but a loss to WSU is crushing.
8. Oregon State Beavers (13-8, 5-4) Last Week: 9
Last season, Oregon State won just four conference games. As the calendar turns to February, the Beavers have already surpassed that number thanks to a home victory over UCLA on Sunday. Craig Robinson's club continues to improve and will be a challenge for any Pac-12 school down the stretch.
9. Utah Utes (14-7, 3-6) Last Week: 8
Utah suffered another close conference loss, this time to Colorado by four points in overtime. Utah has still not lost a conference game by more than nine points this season.
10. Oregon Ducks (16-6, 3-6) Last Week: 10
Oregon suffered a two-point loss to UCLA at home on Thursday as the Ducks continue to struggle to close out games in the Pac-12. Oregon's six conference loses have come by an average of 6.3 points.
11. Washington State Cougars (9-12, 2-7) Last Week: 12
The Cougars move up one spot in this week's rankings after their victory over in-state rival Washington. It was Washington State's first victory since January 12.
12. USC Trojans (10-12, 1-8) Last Week: 11
USC went 0-2 against the Oregon schools last week, and six of the Trojans' eight conference losses have come by double digits.
