One of Todd Graham's main goals at Arizona State is to keep local talent at home, and that's exactly what he did with Chaparral High School's Tyler Whiley.
Whiley faxed in his letter of intent on Signing Day and becomes the highest-rated local recruit to "Stay True to ASU" in Arizona State's 2014 recruiting class.
Another Sun Devil #StayingTrue Glad to have @TeeWhiley on the Team! #ASUSigningDay

A 4-star wide receiver according to Scout and a 4-star "athlete" according to Rivals, Whiley is also one of the most highly-regarded recruits signing with Arizona State this year. At Chaparral, Whiley played a little bit of everything and served as a utility man on both sides of the football.
In his senior campaign, Whiley ran for 702 yards and 12 touchdowns on just 98 attempts while catching 41 passes for 587 yards and an additional seven touchdowns. On defense, Whiley was credited with 25 tackles and six interceptions last season while also serving as his team's kick returner.
Whiley verbally committed to Arizona State in July and took his official visit with the Sun Devils over the weekend of Jan. 17. Whiley also made an unofficial visit to campus during the season as House of Sparky spotted him on the sidelines chatting with Arizona State quarterback recruit Manny Wilkins.
Whiley's Rivals.com profile lists offers from Arizona, UCLA, Washington and other prominent college football schools so receiving his letter of intent was an important pick-up for Arizona State.
The Sun Devil receiving corps is crowded, but with Whiley's athleticism, he should have a chance to crack the lineup in a few different spots throughout his career.
