National Signing Day 2014: Armand Perry signs with ASU

ASU picked up yet another recruit Wednesday who was expected to sign with the Sun Devils.

Armand Perry signed his national letter of intent on Wednesday to play for Arizona State after committing to play for the Sun Devils back in August.

Perry is a safety out of national powerhouse Bishop Gorman high school in Las Vegas, Nev. He weighs in at 170 pounds and stands 5-foot-11. He is rated a 3-star recruit by Rivals.com, ESPN and Scout.com

Perry had offers from Cal, Nevada, New Mexico State and UNLV before deciding to commit to Arizona State. Alden Darby will graduate this spring but Arizona State is already somewhat set at safety next season with Laiu Moeakiola, Damarious Randall and Marcus Ball returning and likely to take center stage. It remains to be seen if Perry might challenge for playing time.

Perry is ranked the third best player in the state of Nevada by Rivals while ESPN ranks him lower at the eighth best player in Nevada and the 118th best safety in the country.

According to ESPN, Perry has solid speed and isn't afraid to trust his instincts but the recruiting service stressed that it would greatly benefit Perry to gain some weight and perhaps a few more inches.
