It had been awhile since we've heard the "boom" made famous by Todd Graham and his coaching staff on Twitter whenever Arizona State lands a new recruit. Friday morning the "boom" sounded again this time for Alfred Smith.

Smith is a three-star wide receiver from Destrahan, Louisiana and is part of the class of 2015. Devils Digest was the first to report the news on Twitter.

Smith is the 32nd best player in the state of Louisiana and the 80th best wide receiver in the class of 2015 according to Rivals. Both Rivals.com and Scout.com list Smith as a three-star recruit. He is the seventh recruit for the Sun Devils in the class of 2015 and the first wide receiver.

He stands 5-foot-9 and 184 pounds according to Rivals so he will clearly need to add muscle. Smith fielded 16 total offers according to Rivals, the most notable offers came from schools such as from Clemson, Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Nebraska among others.

Smith had committed to Utah in January but then decommitted a month later according to nola.com. He joins redshirt freshman defensive lineman Corey Smith and redshirt freshman wide receiver Ronald Lewis as the other two Sun Devils currently on the roster from Louisiana and the greater New Orleans area.

Smith was offered by the Sun Devils on Dec. 10 and took an unofficial visit to campus yesterday according to 247sports.
