Arizona State ranked No. 19 in the preseason Associated Press poll was released on Sunday morning.
This comes on the heels of the Sun Devils No. 18 placement in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll which was released Jul. 31.
In last season's preseason AP poll, the Sun Devils received 53 votes, which were not enough to get ranked. At one point last season, Arizona State placed as high as No. 11 in the AP poll before playing Stanford in the Pac-12 championship game. They also jumped six spots from No. 19 to No. 13 after beating the UCLA Bruins to win the 2013 Pac-12 South crown.
The rest of the Pac-12 is also well represented in the poll with the Oregon Ducks (3), UCLA Bruins (7), Stanford Cardinal (11), USC Trojans (15) and Washington Huskies (25) all ranked as well. The maroon and gold finished the 2013 season ranked No. 20 in the AP poll after their loss to Texas Tech in Holiday Bowl.
