Thursday marks the first day of classes at Arizona State for the 2014 fall semester. Some students stayed put here in Arizona, but many spread out across the country to go back home, study abroad, counselor at summer camps, work internships, or go on family vacations.
Regardless of what students did with their summer, they were probably pretty busy at one point or another and may have missed a piece of important ASU sports news. Here's a quick roundup of what happened during the summer of 2014 in Arizona State athletics.
May 8th-10th: The Sun Devils have three players taken in the 2014 NFL Draft and another six sign as undrafted free agents with NFL teams.

May 30th-31st: The Arizona State baseball team falls to Pepperdine and Sacramento State to end their season in the Cal Poly regional
June 23rd: The Sun Devils pick up three offensive line commitments in one day from Cade Cote, Steven Miller and Mason Walter
July 31st: Arizona State ranks No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and the university puts a ban on kegs at tailgates
August 13th: Offensive lineman Chip Sarafin becomes the first active Division I football player to come out as gay
August 17th: Arizona State basketball gets a commitment from Andre Spight and football is ranked No. 19 in the AP poll
August 18th: Arizona State releases new football uniforms
