Aside from some bumpy moments in the second quarter, the Arizona State offense was in prime form, especially on the ground, and it is evident through their play chart.
The Sun Devils racked up 423 rushing yards, their most since their win over Arizona in 1996. The ASU attack was led by D.J. Foster, who ran for a career-high 213 yards and totaled 270 yards from scrimmage. He found his greatest success through the middle and to the left side of the Lobo defense.
There were some interesting notes through the air, star wideout Jaelen Strong had a quiet night, except for a dazzling touchdown grab in the third quarter. After not attempting a single pass over the middle in the opener, quarterback Taylor Kelly found some success in that area, highlighted by a 41-yard touchdown to the speedy Cameron Smith.
