Another day, another commitment to ASU's Division I hockey team.
Friday it was Joe Lappin, a forward out of the USHL who announced via Twitter that he was coming to Tempe. The 6-foot, 180-pound forward out of Geneva, Ill. has 11 points in 20 games with the Lincoln Stars. He is the fifth USHL player in the recruiting class.
Proud to announce my commitment to @ASUD1Hockey I would like you thank everyone who has helped me along the way. #gosundevils

Lappin made a name for himself in the 2013-14 season with the South Shore Kings of the United State Premier Hockey League when he put up a line of 27-17-44 in 45 games. The year before that he scored 19 points win 33 games with the Valley Jr. Warriors of the Eastern Junior Hockey League, the same league that produced ASU goalie Robert Levin.
Lappin will join the team next season.
