Football midseason awards - With this being the midway point of the season, it's only fair that this week the House of Sparky staff gives out its midseason awards. Yesterday, we named Salamo Fiso the first half defensive MVP, with a number of other players getting considerations.

Even though the defense has been outstanding, there is room for improvement. The secondary has had an up-and-down year and they will need to shore up some issues in order to have a stronger second half.

Prepping for Oregon's speed - The bye week gives ASU more time to prepare for the attack of the Oregon offense. The Sun Devils are excited to have the extra time, especially with Oregon getting back quarterback Vernon Adams. The speed that he brings will need to be contained in order for the Sun Devils to have a chance on Thursday.

4-star JUCO OLB commits to ASU- For the first time in almost two months, the Sun Devil football program receiving a verbal commitment from a recruit. 4-star JUCO OLB Dougladson Subtyl announced his decision on Twitter. Subtyl stands at 6'3'' and 235 pounds and will have two years of eligibility and was recruited for his ability to play the Devilbacker position.
