ASU vs. Washington: By the Numbers Preview

How do Washington and Arizona State stack up statistically? Find out in our By the Numbers Preview.

James Snook-USA TODAY Sports

With the matchup between the Arizona State Sun Devils and the Washington Huskies just days away, we wanted to take a look at the contest looking solely at numbers.

Here is your By the Numbers Preview of ASU-Washington.

0

No ASU coach has taken the Sun Devils to a bowl game in each of his first four seasons. If the Sun Devils can win two of their final three games, Todd Graham would accomplish this feat.

5

Sophomore running back Demario Richard has amassed at least 100 rushing yards in five games this season. It is the first time a Sun Devil running back has accomplished this since Delvon Flowers in 2001.

8.8

Arizona State is averaging 8.8 tackles for loss per game, which is first in the Pac-12 and fifth nationally.

9

The Sun Devils have won nine straight games against the Huskies. That is tied for the third longest streak by one conference opponent over another. ASU has won five straight games against Washington at Sun Devil Stadium.

10

Washington has played 10 true freshman this season: OL Trey Adams, LB Tevis Bartlett, QB Jake Browning, LB Ben Burr-Kirven, TB Myles Gaskin, DB Austin Joyner, WR Chico McClatcher, DB Jordan Miller, WR Quinten Pounds and WR Isaiah Renfro

12

The Sun Devils are 12-1 on games that have been televised by the Pac-12 Networks. This season, ASU is 2-0 when appearing on the network's channel.

13

Washington opponents have scored touchdowns in just 13 of 32 red zone attempts (40.6 percent). That is the lowest percentage of any team in Pac-12.

18.8

The Huskies defense allows an average of 18.8 points per game, which leads the conference and is 25th nationally. This is especially impressive when you consider the Huskies lost three first round draft picks off that defense.

31

The Sun Devils have 31 scoring drives this season under three minutes. Under offensive coordinator Mike Norvell, 72.9 percent of ASU's scoring drives have been under three minutes.

34

The Huskies will bring the No. 1 defense in the Pac-12 to Tempe on Saturday. The most points a team has scored against them this season was the 34 points that Utah put up against them this past Saturday. Only three teams (Cal, Stanford, Utah) have scored 30 points on Washington this season.

49

D.J. Foster has caught a pass in 49 consecutive games, which is a Pac-12 record. Foster has caught a pass in every game he has played in his ASU career.

72.2

Zane Gonzalez is nailing his kickoffs in the end zone 72.2 percent of the time. To compare, ASU opponents are forcing touchbacks just 36.4 percent of the time.

178

Senior receiver Jaydon Mickens has caught 178 passes in his Washington career, that is good for third most all-time at the school.
