The Arizona State's 2016 football schedule is officially here, as the Pac-12 released every team's schedule Tuesday night.
As announced in previous dates, ASU will open the season against the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks on Sept. 3, the first time the two teams have faced off since 2012. The Sun Devils host Big-12 opponent Texas Tech Red Raiders on Sept. 10. ASU will close its nonconference slate against the UTSA Roadrunners on Sept. 17 in San Antonio, as part of coach Todd Graham's emphasis to play and recruit in the state of Texas.
The Sun Devils will begin Pac-12 play by hosting the California Golden Bears on Sept. 24, then travel to face the USC Trojans on Oct. 1 and host the UCLA Bruins the week after on Oct. 8 in what initially looks like ASU's toughest stretch of the upcoming season.
ASU will visit Autzen Stadium for the first time in five years to face the Oregon Ducks on Oct. 29. The Sun Devils will take their only bye of the season that week before hosting Utah on a Thursday-night showdown on Nov. 10. The Utah game is also ASU's last home game of the season, which was likely scheduled to accommodate the final phase of Sun Devil Stadium renovations after the 2016 season.
ASU will end the season in Tucson in the annual Territorial Cup matchup against the Arizona Wildcats on Nov. 25, the Friday after Thanksgiving. ASU-Arizona is typically played in the week of Thanksgiving and in the last game of the season for both teams and returns to normal next year.
