It was one of the best games of 2015 for about three quarters. The Arizona State Sun Devils battled the Utah Utes on a cold, rainy night in Salt Lake City and led the No. 4 team in the country early in the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter, which saw ASU get outscored 21-0, is not part of our '12 Plays of Christmas' Countdown. Our moment from this game came in the first quarter and got Arizona State on the board.
Tim White showed a knack - especially early in the season - for finding the end zone and making big plays for Arizona State. After missing the Texas A&M game with a wrist injury, White scored five touchdowns over his next five games leading into ASU's contest in the middle of October against Utah.
White made his most explosive play of the season early in that game to help propel ASU in a battle against the Utes.
Play No. 3: Tim White's 100-yard kickoff return touchdown against Utah
Utah took a 7-0 lead on a pass from Travis Wilson to Harrison Handley to cap a seven-play, 69-yard drive midway through the first quarter. White took the ensuing kickoff a few steps in the ASU end zone.
He sprinted about 12 yards forward and then curved to his right, along the near sideline. He then ran along the ASU sideline untouched to the end zone for his sixth touchdown of the season and his first on special teams.
White only scored one touchdown the rest of the season, but he made his touch on special teams against Utah count.
