The 2015-16 college basketball season is over three weeks old and we have now enough evidence to publish our first set of Pac-12 power rankings. We take a look below at how each team currently stands according to House of Sparky's Connor Pelton and Kaelen Jones.
Rank | Pelton's Picks | Jones' Picks |
1. | UCLA | Arizona |
2. | Arizona | UCLA |
3. | Oregon | Oregon |
4. | Utah | Utah |
5. | Arizona State | California |
6. | USC | Arizona State |
7. | California | USC |
8. | Oregon State | Washington State |
9. | Colorado | Colorado |
10. | Washington | Oregon State |
11. | Washington State | Washington |
12. | Stanford | Stanford |
Pelton's Picks
I've got the Bruins edging out Arizona at the top. They have a pair of wins against UNLV and Long Beach State that are going to look a lot better in three months than they do at the moment, and of course, they just beat one of the best teams in the country.
The Wildcats have an equally impressive victory -- fresh off a win at No. 13 Gonzaga -- but their performance outside that one game has left a lot to be desired.
The rest of the upper half seems pretty clear cut. I have really liked what I've seen from USC thus far and had them narrowly winning out against California for the final spot in the top six.
Jones' Picks
Arizona’s win over Gonzaga pushes it ahead to the top of the rankings, with an enigmatic UCLA squad right behind following a momentous win over No. 1 Kentucky. Oregon, California, and Utah remain behind the top two for now but appear to be a step ahead of the rest of the Pac at the moment.
Meanwhile, Arizona State and USC provide the most intrigue from the middle of the conference, with each boasting wins over ranked opponents.
