Kareem Orr could have waited. It would have only been two more days until National Signing Day when many recruits across the country put pen to paper, but Orr decided to commit to ASU Monday and signed Wednesday.
Orr is a three-star cornerback recruit out of Notre Dame in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 191 pounds. Orr is ranked No. 29 in the state and the 57th best corner in the country by Rivals. ESPN ranks him as the No. 68 player in the country and No. 28 in Tennessee.
Orr fielded offers from many high profile schools such as Georgia, Ole Miss and Ohio State, ultimately choosing ASU over the Buckeyes. Orr joins Stanley Norman at corner and with the emergence of Kweishi Brown and Armand Perry, the Sun Devils will be much better off in terms of cornerback depth in 2015.
Many view Orr as an underrated player. Here is what SBNation recruiting writer Jamie Uyeyama said about Orr:
He is fluid in his transitions and does a great job of mirroring and staying with receivers who attempt double moves.
He shows good speed and I really like his acceleration. He does a nice job of sticking his foot in the ground and exploding to the football and he also shows good ball skills with the ability to intercept the football.
Orr is a nice pickup who has the talent to develop into a solid starting cornerback in the Pac-12.
