The nature of National Signing Day is winning and losing some recruits. ASU lost one on Wednesday morning in the form of Paul Lucas, who switched to Oregon State. He was an Under Armour All-American and played his prep football at Mountain Pointe, one of Arizona's powerhouse football programs.

Lucas is rated as a 4-star prospect by ESPN recruiting and the No. 41 running back in the nation. Rivals ranks him as a 3-star prospect and the nation's No. 9 all-purpose back. The 247 Sports composite ranks Lucas as the No. 10 all-purpose back in the nation and the 5th best player in Arizona.

He has a reported 40-yard dash time of 4.4 and has been one of the most dynamic players in the state of Arizona the past two seasons. Lucas reportedly had offers from Arizona, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Tennessee, UCLA and Washington. Lucas committed to Arizona State on Christmas Day but flipped on Wednesday to the Beavers
