One of the earliest commitments Todd Graham earned in the 2015 recruiting class stayed true to his pledge, as Thomas Hudson signed his letter of intent to play for the Sun Devils. Hudson, a consensus three-star tight end prospect by all major recruiting services, gave his verbal commitment to Arizona State in July 2014 and never wavered, taking his official visit to Tempe on January 16th before inking his name Wednesday.
A star for Archbishop Mitty in San Jose, Hudson At 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Hudson presents a large target for quarterbacks, and his potential as a consistent receiving threat had multiple Pac-12 schools send offers his way. In addition to traditional Midwest powers like Notre Dame and Michigan State, Hudson collected offers from 10 of the Pac-12's schools, opting to leave California for Tempe.
Ranked by Scout as the No. 40 tight end in the class of 2015 and No. 19 by 247 Sports, Hudson is the only true tight end that Graham has signed in this class. Hudson is ranked No. 24 at his position by Rivals and No. 81 in the state of California. While Kody Kohl has the top of the tight end depth chart secured for the 2015 season, Hudson will have the opportunity to earn playing time earlier in his career than he would have at schools with log-jammed tight end depth charts.
