Former ASU SS Deven Marraro called up to MLB - Former ASU baseball player Deven Marrero was called up from AAA two days ago when Dustin Pedroia was placed on the 15-day DL. Marrero won Boston's Minor League 2014 Defensive Player of the Year, however he was hitting just .241 this year at AAA. Expect Marrero to play some second base and see most of his time against left-handed pitching.
ASU Hockey commit selected in NHL Draft - Goaltender Joey Daccord, an ASU Hockey commit in the class of 2016, was selected in the seventh round of the 2015 NHL Draft by the Ottawa Senators. The plan is for Daccord to play a year at the juniors level and then come to ASU in 2016.

Yesterday, three ASU targets trimmed their lists with the Sun Devils making the cut in all three cases. Tight End/H-back prospect Nasier Upshur has ASU in his final eight along with Alabama, South Carolina, Michigan Temple, USC, Maryland and Florida State. Upshur plans to commit on August 8, with Michigan as the favorite as of now.

Texas offensive guard Zach Shackelford has ASU in his top nine schools. The Sun Devils join Kansas State, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Colorado, Houston, Tulsa and Illinois.
