Lightfoot played his first two seasons of high school basketball at Ironwood Ridge in Tucson before transferring to Gilbert Christian (Gilbert, Ariz.) prior to his junior season.
After being forced to sit out the first part of his junior year because of a transfer violation, Lightfoot averaged 19.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game, leading Gilbert Christian to a Division II State Championship in February.
Lightfoot committed to New Mexico in 2014 but this past April decommmitted and reopened up his recruitment. Since then, he has picked up offers from Arizona and Kansas on top of offers from Creighton, Grand Canyon and Utah. Vanderbilt and Stanford have also shown interest in the 6-foot-7 forward.
Rivals lists Lightfoot as the No. 140 overall player in the class of 2016 and a 3-star prospect. ESPN ranks him as the No. 27 power forward in the nation and a 4-star prospect.
According to Richard Obert of the Arizona Republic, Lightfoot will continue to make visits during the summer months and a commitment could come as early as August.
