Andre Adams has committed to the Sun Devils and will join the program this year, according to Chris Karpman of SunDevilSource.com and multiple reports.

Adams is an Arizona native who played three years of varsity basketball at Westview High School in Avondale. He averaged 9.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game over his varsity career to earn some significant recruiting attention, but his distinction as a top Class of 2014 recruit was marred by his poor academic performance. Once ranked as high as No. 53 in the nation by Rivals, Adams wasn't able to make the leap to the collegiate ranks with his Class of 2014 peers.

So in 2014, Adams moved to Florida and enrolled at elite private school IMG Academy for a post-grad year to improve his academic standing. Adams was expected to be one of the team's top scorers but injured his left knee and had surgery in December.

Still, he remained a top name on the recruiting trail, and ended up choosing to come back home and play for the Sun Devils over offers from USC, UTEP and others.

Check out the highlight film from Adams' senior year at Westview. He shows incredible defensive versatility as well as solid athleticism for a player of his size.
