Daily Devil Dish: ASU Football home game themes released, basketball loses reserve

While ASU football is practicing up at Camp Tontozona, Tempe still had plenty of news.

Football Releases Themes For Home Games - Every home game at Sun Devil Stadium is not without a plan, and the team released its themes for the upcoming season. The first ever home Whiteout will come Sept. 18th against New Mexico, a year after beating the Lobos in Albuquerque wearing sleek gold/white/gold. The Maroon Monsoon will make its fourth appearance, with the highly-anticipated Sept. 26 game against USC receiving the honors. The Oct. 10 date against Colorado will feature the Blackout theme while gold is the recommended color for all other home games.

ASU Basketball loses reserve - Cameron Gilbert, a forward from Prescott who spent his freshman season riding the Arizona State pine, officially transferred from the Sun Devils to Point Loma University. Gilbert never saw game action at ASU despite possessing solid size for a small forward.

Volleyball Open 2015 Ranked No. 15 - After finishing the 2014 season ranked No. 22 in the nation, the Arizona State volleyball team will start their 2015 campaign at the No. 16 slot, despite only placing seventh in the Pac-12 with a 9-11 record. The Pac-12 as a conference was well-represented throughout the preseason rankings, with nine members of the conference placing in the Top 25.

ASU opens the season Aug. 28 against Northeastern.
