ASU Football: Sun Devils are on to New Mexico - With a short week upon the team, all Cal Poly discussion has been put to rest. The focus is now shifted to Friday's game against 1-1 New Mexico, who also runs the triple option.

Bobby Hurley and company received some rough news Monday night when it was revealed that freshman forward Andre Adams had torn his ACL for the second time in 10 months. Adams will now be forced to redshirt this season, leaving Arizona State with just four big men for the 2015-16 campaign. The three-star Avondale, AZ product held offers from UNLV, Colorado, and Oregon State (among others), but ultimately signed with the Sun Devils back in July.

ASU Football
Despite a shaky start to the season, ESPN still has the maroon and gold in their "on the fence" category for the College Football Playoff. There are certainly worse places to be, as Colorado and Washington State have already made the list of teams that are out of contention.
Coach Todd Graham met with the media for his weekly press conference on Monday, and it sounds like running back Kalen Ballage is recovering nicely after contracting mononucleosis. There was no updated timetable for his return, but it is possible we see the sophomore back on the field Friday.
Kalen Ballage was at pratice today and is feeling better, according to Graham.

Former Sun Devils
Texas (and former Arizona State) Athletic Director Steve Patterson was fired Tuesday morning by Longhorn president Gregory Fenves. The decision comes just two days after a banner was flown over the 40 acres calling for Patterson to be let go.
