Sun Devils in the NFL: Osweiler benched in favor of Manning in Week 17

How did our former Sun Devils perform in their season finales?

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports
Your weekly recap of how former Sun Devils are performing in the NFL.

Brock Osweiler benched for Manning, Broncos clinch AFC's No. 1 seed

Osweiler was pulled for Peyton Manning during the third quarter of Denver's 27-20 win over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. The ASU product had thrown for 232 yards on 14 completions, but only managed one touchdown while tossing two interceptions and fumbling on another play before being replaced.

Said Osweiler of the impact being benched had on him: "It was tough on the emotions, but winning the AFC West is what it's all about.

"As long as this football team is winning games, shoot, I don't care who's playing quarterback."

Following the game, Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak explained 'he played a hunch' and has yet to say who he intends to start for Denver's first playoff game.
