According to reports, this arrest is connected to the Deonte Reynolds and Jamye Otomewo case in which both players were kicked off the team last month for being caught with stolen credit cards.
Murphy-Richardson represents the biggest loss of the three from a football perspective. As a redshirt freshman, he collected 15 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in 2015. He was projected to start or at least compete for the starting Devilbacker role in 2016 with the graduation of Antonio Longino.
We will update this story if more facts become available.
