LOS ANGELES — The Arizona State Sun Devils are behind big early in the third quarter against the USC Trojans, but the scoreboard might be the least of their worries at the moment.
Starting quarterback Manny Wilkins went down with a left leg injury late in the first half and needed assistance to walk off the field and into the visiting locker room at the LA Memorial Coliseum.

Facing a third down, Wilkins was sacked with 2:24 remaining in the second quarter. After grabbing at his left leg, trainers quickly came onto the field and helped the quarterback before he was able to walk off.
The team’s backup quarterback, freshman Brady White, took one snap to run out the clock on the second quarter and started the first possession of the second half for Arizona State. He completed one pass on that drive before his offense went three-and-out.
White was beaten out by Wilkins for the starting job throughout fall camp back in August.
