The Arizona State Sun Devils practiced at the Kajikawa Practice Fields on Tuesday in preparation of their matchup against the Colorado Buffaloes.

The team worked through tackle, individual and tempo drills in front of the media.

Quarterback situation update

Quarterback Brady White was ruled out for the remainder of the season Monday after suffering a right foot injury during his first career start against UCLA that will keep him out 10-12 months.

Manny Wilkins, who is nursing a high left ankle injury, walked through opening stretches. During the individual/tackle period he tossed the ball with a coach, but during the team tempo period, he was an observer, standing behind the offensive units.

Head coach Todd Graham said Monday the plan is to have Wilkins practice by Thursday, and that he “fully intends” on having the redshirt-sophomore available.

Freshman Dillon Sterling-Cole will make his first career start in place of Wilkins if he’s unable to play, with freshman receiver Jack Smith (former Mountain Pointe High School starting quarterback) and redshirt-sophomore safety Coltin Gerhart being prepped as emergency options.

Orr, Perry held out at practice

Cornerback Kareem Orr, who exited during the first half of the Sun Devils’ victory over UCLA, sported a brace over his right knee and had a noticeable limp. He worked on a stationary bike while on Muscle Beach.

Orr wasn’t the only starting secondary member held out.

Safety Armand Perry also worked on a stationary bike at Muscle Beach. He was wearing a sleeve over his right leg, which was padded over knee.

Linebacker Christian Sam worked on a stationary bike while on Muscle Beach, too. He hasn’t returned to the field since suffering a left ankle injury against Northern Arizona.
