A late addition was made to the Arizona State Sun Devils basketball schedule on Monday morning as it was announced the team will host UC Santa Cruz in a November 3 exhibition contest.
The game will start at 7:00 p.m. inside Wells Fargo Arena and fans will be admitted free of charge.
In addition to the exhibition against the Division III Banana Slugs, Arizona State will also play one closed-door scrimmage against another Division I team before the regular season starts on November 11. The scrimmages are not allowed to be publicized by the team, and the final score and statistics from the game are supposed to be kept secret.
UC Santa Cruz is coached by former Sun Devil Ronnie DuBois, who played point guard for Arizona State and received all-academic Pac-10 honors in 1998-99. DuBois led his team to a 10-15 campaign last season, his fourth as the head coach in Santa Cruz.
The Maroon and Gold are well into preparations for the 2016-17 season, which included an event called “Mill Madness” that was held last Friday.
