The Pac-12 is beginning to really flesh itself out midway through the season.
There's plenty of fun and explosive moments left to be shared and experienced during the remainder of the schedule. With that said, coming off another weekend of #Pac12AfterDark, Connor Pelton and I bring you our Pac-12 power rankings ahead of Week 9.
Pac-12 North
Rank | Pelton | Jones |
1. | Washington | Washington |
2. | Washington State | Washington State |
3. | California | Stanford |
4. | Stanford | California |
5. | Oregon State | Oregon State |
6. | Oregon | Oregon |
Closer Look
It appears Washington is inching closer and closer to a College Football Playoff berth following its dismantling of Oregon State. Rival Washington State survived a visit to Tempe lodging the Cougars at No. 2 in our rankings, while Stanford drops after falling flat against Colorado.
California outlasted a furious Oregon comeback last Friday, en route to a victory, elevating the Golden Bears to third and fourth in each of our respective standings, too.
Pac-12 South
Rank | Pelton | Jones |
1. | Utah | Colorado |
2. | USC | Utah |
3. | Colorado | USC |
4. | Arizona State | Arizona State |
5. | UCLA | UCLA |
6. | Arizona | Arizona |
Closer Look
The Buffaloes pulled off a big upset over Stanford, however they remain No. 3 in Connor's rankings while securing the top spot in mine. For Mr. Pelton, that honor still belongs to Utah, which outpaced UCLA in a shootout last weekend. An idle USC rounds out each of our top three.
We agree on the bottom three teams in the division -- ASU, UCLA and Arizona -- heading into Week 9.
