After going 2-0 in their mini two-game homestand to start the season, the Arizona State Sun Devils are headed to Kissimmee for the Tire Pros Invitational. Joining them there are three other power conference teams along with three traditional powers in the high and mid-major ranks.

Friday:

Arizona State vs. Oklahoma/Tulane, 3:00 PM or 5:00 PM, ESPNU

Sunday:

Arizona State Update (2-0):

All things considered, the first two games of the 2016-17 campaign went pretty well for head coach Bobby Hurley and company. The ballyhooed backcourt has lived up to the hype thus far, and while the coaching staff would like to see more on both ends of the court from the bigs, it is clear that this team will be able to score and compete against most nearly opponent it faces.

We last saw Arizona State play on Sunday night, where the Sun Devils took care of business to the tune of a 22-point win against Cal Poly. The Mustangs actually pushed Hurley’s team deep into the second half before they finally faded away, but that small test may have been a net positive as the Maroon and Gold will surely need to start playing a full 40 minutes of good basketball.

Point guard Tra Holder currently leads Arizona State with 23.5 points per game, but three other players are averaging in double figures.
