The Arizona State Sun Devils held practice Tuesday morning at Sun Devil Stadium ahead of their battle with the Arizona Wildcats in the 91st Territorial Cup on Friday.
Players stretched and participated in tackle drills in front of media while garbed in shells.
Here’s our notes and observations from today’s practice session:
In-Green
Just two players were dressed in non-contact pinnie jerseys today, defensive back De’Chavon “Gump” Hayes and wide receiver Kyle Williams. Each participated in drills, however.
To the side
Linebacker Malik Lawal and defensive end Emanuel Dayries stretched to the side.
Offensive lineman Cade Cote once again stood off to the side with his left arm in a sling.
Starting right tackle Zach Robertson (ankle) was on crutches, and isn’t expected to play this weekend.
Offensive lineman Sam Jones worked fully through drills Tuesday after head coach Todd Graham said he’s hopeful of his return on Monday.
Tape and Braces
Starting safety Armand Perry had both ankles taped.
Defensive lineman George Lea sported a brace over his right knee, but didn’t appear hampered during drills.
Defensive back James Johnson wore a brace over his right leg.
