ASU Football: Sunday Practice Report

Then God said, “Let there be football on Sundays.” And it was good.

The Arizona State Sun Devils, coming off an idle bye week, held practice Sunday at the Kajikawa Practice Fields. Media was permitted to view stretching, tackle and team-tempo drill periods.

Here’s some notes and observations from this morning’s session:

Injury Updates

Starting linebacker Salamo Fiso (knee) worked on a stationary bike during drills. Linebacker Christian Sam was spotted on Muscle Beach, however didn’t work through any stationary drills.

Defensive back James Johnson wore a green non-contact jersey, along with a brace over his right knee.

Linebacker Koron Crump (knee) sported a brace over his right knee, however worked fully through drills.

Offensive linemen Sam Jones (right foot) and Stephon McCray (right foot) stood to the side during stretching and didn’t participate during team drills.

Quarterback Manny Wilkins (left ankle) sported a black sleeve over his left leg, but worked through full drills without any hindrance.

Tempo Period

The team performed two 11-on-11 series, the first between the first-team units and the second between the second-team groups.
