Davidson originally signed with Central Florida in 2016, but didn’t enroll at UCF after qualifying late.

He’s the 12th commitment the Sun Devils have secured for their 2017 signing class, and will be the sixth in-state pledge ASU has earned, joining quarterback Ryan Kelley (Basha), wide receiver Curtis Hodges (Mountain View), and the Saguaro Three—Jared Poplawski, Kyle Soelle, and Corey Stephens.
Davidson is rated as a three-star prospect by both Scout and 247 Sports, while Rivals lists him as a two-star recruit and ESPN has him unranked.
Listed to be at least 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds, Davidson figures to see time at nose tackle. He joins an ASU defensive line slated to start underclassmen George Lea at that spot amidst losing this year’s starter, Viliami Latu, to graduation.
Here’s a breakdown of Davidson’s measurables, according to major scouting services:
DJ Davidson, DT (Desert Ridge-Ariz.)
Scout: 3-star, 6-5, 300 lbs, No. 80 DT
247: 3-star, 6-5, 300 lbs, No. 51 DT
Rivals: 2-star, 6-4, 300 lbs, unranked
ESPN: unranked, 6-4, 300 lbs
