With just two weeks left in regular season play, House of Sparky's Connor Pelton and Kaelen Jones are back to take an updated view at the Pac-12 power rankings. Their picks are below, followed by a brief breakdown of the conference.
Rank | Pelton's Picks | Jones' Picks |
1. | California | Arizona |
2. | Arizona | Oregon |
3. | Oregon | California |
4. | USC | Utah |
5. | Utah | USC |
6. | UCLA | Washington |
7. | Oregon State | Oregon State |
8. | Washington | UCLA |
9. | Colorado | Colorado |
10. | Stanford | Stanford |
11. | Arizona State | Arizona State |
12. | Washington State | Washington State |
Pelton's Picks
While the order is a bit jumbled, it's beginning to look like a three team race between California, Arizona, and Oregon at the top of the league.
Kaelen and I disagree on the order between those three, but I went with the Golden Bears at the top thanks to their recent five game winning streak.
Arizona State is back at No. 11 after Stanford went on the road and beat the Ducks (while the Sun Devils lost by 38 down in Tucson). Below ASU is Washington State, which has now dropped 14 of its last 15 and is counting down the days until the season mercifully comes to a close.
Jones' Picks
Arizona was completely dominant of Arizona State in their matchup last week, and tacked on a win over then-ranked USC a little over a week ago.
Oregon and California seem to be separating themselves as far as establishing a tier of teams that will vie for the top spot, however Utah and USC have shown a capability to hang with them. It just may be a matter of not having enough matchups left to make a run at this point.
