Two weeks after running backs coach Kodi Burns left ASU to coach at Auburn, the Sun Devils have reportedly found his replacement (and their fourth running backs coach since August of 2015). Multiple reports indicate that John Simon will be hired to coach one of ASU's strongest positions.

Simon spent the past three seasons as the RBs coach at Southern Miss, where he recently served under current ASU OC Chip Lindsey. Under Simon, the Golden Eagles boasted two running backs who tallied over 1,000 yards on the ground in 2015. Earlier this month, Simon left Southern Miss to coach the wide receivers at Louisiana-Lafayette.

Prior to his time at Southern Miss, Simon spent time as a coach and administrator at a Dallas-area high school. He spent three seasons in the NFL after playing collegiately at Louisiana Tech.

Simon's Twitter bio has been updated to reflect the coaching change and according to Doug Haller, ASU is just awaiting approval from human resources before making an announcement.
